About

About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified (NCC), with an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification background. I graduated from Webster University with Masters in Counseling in 2005 completing my Internship with a focus on PTSD within the active duty military and their families. Throughout the years since moving to Georgia from North Carolina, I have carried these skills forward working with families and individuals in a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds all looking to navigate difficult situations.

My passion is standing alongside distressed individuals, couples, and partners fighting to reconnect in their relationships even if it is only to find a relationship with the self. I strongly believe in meeting you where you’re at when we both make the decision that we are a good match to work together. There is absolutely no judgement here and our work will be from a collaborative position. Clients who do well with me come ready to get their hands dirty and are committed to do the work it takes to become unstuck. I’m not a therapist who is overly worried about being “Politically Correct” or work harder than you. I whole heartedly believe it’s imperative for our relationship to be open and honest with each other without tip toeing around what needs to be discussed. Another point that is important to make is that all relationships are welcome here and what I don’t know I will learn.

So, how will we get this work done? I use a variety of modalities but strongly believe and primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Progressive Counting Therapy, Brainspotting Therapy, Deep Brain Reorienting as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Our first objective will be to look at where we are right here/ right now and then decide what it is you want from therapy. Sometimes people start with one notion of what they think is wrong and then it changes as they move forward. Yes, it will get uncomfortable but that’s how you know you’re doing what you need to. In this collaborative relationship, I’ll be there for you and with you to face the dragon. You got this!
